Description
Handcrafted in Japan by metal artisan Kikuhiro, this striking two-piece decorative plate depicts a pair of koi rising through stylized waves. Often associated with perseverance, strength, and success in Japanese culture, the koi are framed by an intricately patterned floral border. The two halves meet at the center to create a complete circular composition for paired cabinet doors or other custom furniture.
The plate is formed from 1.0mm-thick copper and given a traditional antiqued sulfur-patina finish, bringing depth and character to every scale, wave, and ornamental detail. Two sculpted ring handles echo the circular border and give the composition a beautifully balanced appearance.
Available in diameters of 8 1/4" (210mm) and 10 1/4" (260mm). Custom sizes may also be available by quotation. Because each piece is handcrafted, subtle variations in color and finish are natural.
